Gobble, Gobble,Gobble...
WOW, i just received my wonderful sampler box and boy was it filled with so many goodies, Michelle did an awesome job of making it so special, which she does for EVERYBODY, but this one was tide up in a pretty brown sash with a ADORABLE child's  hand print  of a turkey, how 'cute is that!!!!
So now back to the wonderful adventure, I was doing some business stuff and my husband got the box. I asked him to open it up and see what is in it, (Michelle keeps the food packaged separate from the other goods,) so i tell my husband "oh that's food look in there and see. We'll let me say he saw this wonderful treat from.....

So he conveniently pocketed it with saying oh wow this is mine!!!  I didn't even get a chance to see it!! So i said at least let me look at it, well he took the first bite, then showed it to me, the chocolaty, peanuts, covered goodness and the smell of good chocolate as I sniffed it ,was so dreamy !!  Then poof it was gone, he must have seen me drool, so he pop the rest of it in his mouth and said wow, that was good!!!
So as I went to the site www.thechocolatesprinkle.etsy.com
I noticed that they are

What a nice surprise to find earrings! they are so delicate, stunning, and a eloquent simple pleasure. I couldn't find a picture of the ones i received , but they are a wonderful shade of green, pink gold, it reminds me of a spring day and two beautiful little flowers just waiting for a hummingbird to come take a drink. I can not wait to wear them!!So here are some other things i found in their shop...

Disappointment with Hearing Test

My son has Audiotory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder along with mild deafness in his right ear and more pronounced deafness in his left ear. He has been wearing hearing aids since he was six months old. We thought he was getting better, because we weren't able to discern much difference in his hearing when he wore them. When he was 6 months old, he would wake us up in the morning with his babbling.  He's been in speech therapy for about 6 months and showing improvment. He's making more sounds that actually seem like words. Today he told his speech therapist, Shannon, "Buh bye" and waved his hand as she left the room. We were all amazed. He talks so much more than his sister, who doesn't have a hearing impairment, so it's a bit disappointing to have a hearing test like he had this morning.
Funny, I thought he was getting better because he seemed to hear the same with or without his hearing aids in his ears. I didn't think that the reason his hearing was the same with or without aids was because he need more amplification. Why didn't I think of that? His last ABR (acoustical brain stem response) was markedly improved over his first one back in April. I thought his hearing was improving, but after I saw his test results I wonder how much he is not hearing.  He can hear speech sounds in his right ear but his left ear, that's a different story. So it looks like he is going to need another sedated ABR and more behavioral response hearing tests to determine what is going on in his noggin.
His audiologist at Callier Center for Communications said the next step is to turn up the amplification in his hearing aids and if that doesn't work we should consider a Cochlear Implant for his left ear.
Disappointing...
On the bright side, we caught his hearing impairment early. He is getting speech therapy and we provide a language rich environment for him at home. He has good  receptive and expressive  language skills. We are fortunate to live in Dallas with a very good medical school and the Callier Center. I'm also thankful my husband and I didn't take the advice of the first ENT we saw for him. We trusted our gut instincts and got help for Nathaniel sooner instead of waiting 6 months before we had him retested. By the time Nathaniel was 6 months old he had a MRI ruling out a audiotory nerve dysfunction, an ABR, and his first pair of hearing aids.  He's now 14 months old, we'll have to see what the next 6 months hold for him.

Wild Beads

Springtime has come to North Texas a little bit earlier this year and boy, are the twins and I ready to bust out of this joint. It's become a lot easier getting organized to go on little trips and they are eager to get in their car seats for a jaunt somewhere.  Yesterday, we jumped into the car and drove over to Arlington, a 30 minute trip from home, just to visit a bead store.  And what a bead store it is, absolutely huge, a corner store in a strip shopping area across from the old Six Flags mall. It's  just a hop, skip and a jump away from Six Flags Over Texas. Three walls filled with Czech glass and crystal beads. Rounders full of Czech glass and crystal beads. Gemstones galore, pearls, seed beads, delicas, plated findings, wire, precious metal clay, etc. They carry torches, metal working kits and the aforementioned precious metal clay kits.  They have a workroom for beaders to use. The staff was wonderful!  They fawned over my babies and answered my beading questions. Next time I'm going to bring some beads I've been unable to coordinate - I'm sure they will have something to go with them.
It was worth the trip and I plan on making monthly pilgrimages with or without the twins.
